understanding brickwork

This is actually something that any ‘scenic designer’ has got to understand, and not just those with an obsessive attention to realistic detail! I’ve now put together a summary in the ‘Methods’ section entitled brickwork patterrns. Because people do seem to have as much difficulty in getting the scale right as ‘keeping real’ with the pattern I’ve reproduced some fine graphics courtesy of Wikipedia such as the one below

I’ve adjusted the size of these graphics so that they will print at the right scale for 1:25 so (at least for the theatre design students amongst you) there can now be no excuse! I should make it clear that these are meant only as templates or scale guides, for transferring measurements and positions onto a surface to be modelled, not as a printed substitute for realistic brickwork.
